CS2 Skin Rarities & Colours Explained
Every CS2 skin has a rarity grade shown by the colour of its name and the bar behind it. Rarity affects drop odds and, broadly, value — rarer tiers are pulled far less often from cases.
Weapon skin rarities
| Tier | Colour | Typical case odds |
|---|---|---|
| Consumer Grade | White / Grey | — |
| Industrial Grade | Light Blue | — |
| Mil-Spec | Blue (#4b69ff) | ~79.92% |
| Restricted | Purple (#8847ff) | ~15.98% |
| Classified | Pink (#d32ce6) | ~3.20% |
| Covert | Red (#eb4b4b) | ~0.64% |
| ★ Rare Special (Knife/Glove) | Gold (#f0c040) | ~0.26% |
What the colours mean
- Blue (Mil-Spec) — the most common skins in a case.
- Purple (Restricted) and Pink (Classified) — mid-tier; often the best value-for-rarity.
- Red (Covert) — the rarest weapon skins, usually the headline items.
- Gold — knives and gloves (the "rare special" jackpot tier).
